film date: montana

I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Montana where I was visiting my bud Elly (and her husband Doug and daughter Tova). It was so awesome. Montana is a gorgeous place, but shhh, don't tell anyone! Dennis Quaid already found out, and Elly bumped into him at the market the other day. Check out some more of my Montana pics here.

The weird thing about my friendship with Elly is that we met on Flickr. Crazy, huh? Not really though, because even though I've only known her for about a year and a half, it almost feels like we grew up together. Maybe because we were raised in eerily similar ways and have an insane amount of stuff in common. Or maybe because we both laugh at Doug's "That's what she said" jokes every single time. Or maybe because whenever she orders food, I copy her and get the exact same thing. I don't know, but whatever it is, it's pretty fun.

no, i think it's because we both like long walks on the beach. is the "we're dating" joke dead yet? because i've still got a bunch more.

we had so much fun while you were here though. montana is just not the same without you.

elly, i almost put at the end of this post: "and if you think that's gay, then you haven't even seen our matching birkenstocks yet!" but i didn't want to offend anyone by my stupid joke.

by the way, kansas sucks.

I'm jealous! I grew up in Montana as well. I only get to come back about every 2 years or so because I live overseas. Thanks for sharing your pictures. It was great to see mountains again.

Like other folks, I've been lurking, too. And I have to say, my beau makes those jokes, too. Only he says, "That's what yr mom said..." Which is so gross. But he never fails to get me.

Keep making great stuff, and keep your head up about Kansas. I'm a midwesterner, too, and sometimes...yeah.

thanks for sharing. i'd say you two are kindred spirits for sure. and those friendships make life quite special-- even if you met in flickr-land.
