happy halloween

This is my Halloween costume. Okay, it's not a costume. It's just what I'm wearing today. The autumn days in Kansas have been insanely gorgeous for the last week, and it's making me so happy. The only thing that can dampen my spirit is the fact that Joe is out of town again doing interviews. Tonight I'm going to hand out candy with my dad, sister, and brother. Then later Mindy and I will start knitting our sweaters! (While watching scary movies.) We're taking a class together on Sunday, and I want to get a head start. I'm SO pumped to knit my first ever sweater. I hope you have a super sweet Halloween too.

The dress I'm wearing in this photo is the Hemställe Dress, which will be part of the Wiksten winter collection. It's made out of corduroy, and it's crazy comfortable. The collection will be ready in a couple of weeks! We've been busy as bees around here.

Happy Halloween Jenny! The gray corduroy is gorgeous and I love seeing what is one of my favorite shirts in a longer dress version. Can't wait to see what else you and Elly come up with for the winter collection. I'm crossing my fingers for something plaid. Recently I bought a jacket on Etsy from another talented designer, and when I got it in the mail my husband asked me if it was made by Wiksten! I laughed that he has now caught on to my fascination with your beautiful handmade clothing.

You are your own best model Jenny! Great dress, and it's nice to see you're getting so much use out of your A.P.C. mocs! Hang in there while your hubby's out of town (again!). It will be worth the time apart once he's in his new position and you're both settled in a great new part of the country. I wish him all the best in his job search.

I was lucky to get a Hemställe top from the fall collection----was wearing it yesterday and thinking it would be a perfect dress. Thanks for the sneak preview of your winter collection---a nice treat.

Oh no, I think I might have to start saving up for some of your pieces. They're so timeless and well-crafted, and I'm done growing so why wouldn't I be wearing the Hemstalle dress in ten years?

I actually knitted my first thing yesterday; It was meant to become a bow for a little girl's hair but I bound it too tightly and it curls, so now it is a rose. Onto Le Slouch!

What a beautiful dress! I cannot wait to see the sweater you will knit. knowing you it will be stunning. I've never made a sweater, I think that has to change. Have fun in knitting class with your sister. Happy belated halloween! Get any trick or treaters?

I read your blog everyday and love it.
I too live somewhere where it is super beautiful during the fall, it is so inspiring and makes me want to paint all the flower pots in my house differnt colors. Pictures never do the colors justice.

I wanted to give you some advice when the man is out of town. The best thing I have found and it may sound silly but when my man was out of town I made little dates in email where I would send my fiance from place to place and clicks here and there. He would comment on each place and we would share a smile across the world.

Like I said it seems silly but its fun to do together. Brings a little romance into the day.

I'm about to start knitting my first ever sweater too! I found the pattern in the book Knit Knit — it's a really sweet, cardigan with an angular collar. I'm nervous, but super excited about how it's going to turn out. Good luck with yours!
