new shoes

Solestruck.com let me pick out some shoes for free. You can't really tell in the photo that I took, but the heels are dark green. I think they're pretty. I'm so much of a wimp that I rarely wear heels, but maybe this will force me to try to dress up a little. I collect clothes and shoes because it's my passion and my career, but honestly most of the time I'm just wearing pajama pants and a hoodie. It's kind of sad. I'm not even joking--just ask Christy, my seamstress. She will tell you that I'm a mess every day that she comes into work. She probably thinks I'm a crazy person. So thank you, Solestruck.com, for trying to class me up!

Lucky you! You should wear them! It would be a shame for those shoes to sit in a closet.

Beautiful shoes, and with that chunkier heel walking should be a doddle! I always thought you must waft (in a productive way) about your studio looking as gorgeous and put together as you do for your blog shots but I am utterly relieved to hear you dress somewhat like me when off duty! My situation is even more dire in that I am down to one pair of stretch pants due to being 23 wks pregnant. I am determined to make a nice pair of maternity pants that do not resemble trackies or old lady stretch leggings.

Of course you may think otherwise but those shoes might look cool with dark opaques (seeing as your weather is cooling). Can't wait to see them on.

very cute shoes! i second the suggestion of dark opaque tights, maybe in jewel tones? i used to own a similar pair of heels, but i never ever wore them. after 7 years of neglect, i finally gave them to goodwill. sigh.

i hope you have better luck dressing up!

lucy's mum--you're one week ahead of me! i was just going to email you and say that your tops would be perfect for me.

Oh they're beautiful! Lucky you!

cute shoes! the chunky platform heel should be a comfort for your feet. i only dress up and wear heels for special occasions or going out to "nice" dinners...otherwise it's flat, rubber soles for me (espcially at work).

why not challenge yourself to posting an outfit/day on your blog for a week? nothing like a little challenge to get you into the mood of dressing up. although i totally understand - on the days i don't have to go to school [or was going in to work] i sometimes schlep around in the strangest things possible, but at least i tell myself that i'm going to wear my favorite clothes when i schlep. it's just that my favorites don't always go together. but at least they were all chosen to be comfortable!

Beautiful shoes, looks like you got in on the lucky batch of bloggers with the shoe treat. I wanted to say feet treat, but it was too much.
I am now seriously considering the black pair. Darn it.

Oh welcome to my life! I'm a dance teacher/theatre type person. I've always thought that it's absolutely hysterical that to do my job well, I pretty much have to work in pajamas and sweatpants and the ugliest frumpy things you've ever see. HOWEVER...and the same goes for most of my friends in colleagues. When we go out to the theatre - it's practically a social expectation that we show up dressed to the nines. So my wardrobe pretty much consists of sweatpants, yoga pants and formalwear with little in between!

Lucky you. I love those shoes!! Please put a photo of you wearing them. It would be such a waste if they sat in your closet.

Shoes get mad if they don't get taken for a walk once in a while.

Great shoes! I think I want ones for myself...They so remind me the shoes from the orla kiely catalogs! Do they run true to their size?

I think you're classy for admitting to the pajama pants. Phew! Thank you.

I've been loving those shoes for a while now, can't wait to see how you wear them!

It's so true that fashion designers always wear a "uniform" or maybe pyjamas. Nothing could be worse than patternmaking/sewing in uncomfortable clothes! I've been wearing jeans and v-neck t's for weeks!

adorable shoes! i just got a similar grey chunky-heel peep-toe pair on sale by this italian brand called o.x.s. that i've never heard of, but it's amazingly comfy to walk in and i can't wait to layer it up with leggings and dresses this winter!
