a weight off my shoulders

Five inches. That's how much Amber cut off when I went in today for my haircut. This is the picture I gave her to model the cut after. Whoah, I was kinda nervous. I've had quite long hair for three years, and it became my security blanket. But it had to go. I have so much thick hair that it started to feel like a big, tangled blob at the back of my head. I had to sleep on it for a week just to get it to smooth down a little after washing. Plus I just got so sick of having the same style for so long. Now I feel light-weight and light-hearted. Amber did a great job.

Lovely cut! I've been tempted to do the same but have opted for bangs instead--somehow makes my hair feel more manageable to chop it up that way. I wanted to also let you know that every time I wear my Hemstalle top and Orchard House sailor shirt, I get compliments. They are my favorite go to shirts on gloomy days or days I want to feel confident in my outfit. The fabric and design are just beautiful. My mom is a seamstress, so I have a sense of the kind of time that went into making such exquisite pieces. You are both so talented and creative and I can't wait to see what you come up with for winter!

very nice! i love haircuts. it's always a nice change to switch up your style every now and then. though i'm not allowing myself to get a haircut until my hair has sufficiently grown out from the last time i chopped it off...

You totally trump the picture of the cut you took to your hairdresser. Gorgeous, as always!

I took YOUR picture to MY hairdresser when I got my bangs cut. "Make my long, heavy hair look cute like that!" I'll keep this cut in mind when it's time to chop.

Just wanted to add that it makes you look even younger! :D I love the cut, haven't had bangs since I was a kid, but they're just too cute on you.

It looks awesome Jenny!! I have to thank you for the photo too because I need a haircut just to take down the thickness of my hair and that is exactly what I want, I just couldn't explain it.

Loooooverly! And that inspiration pic has got me itching to try to sew a dress just like that. Far, far beyond my skill level but what the hey, you were brave, maybe I cut bravely too!

ooooh it looks so cute! though I did love your hait before, mainly because I'm so jealous of people with long hair, and full hair too... mine is so fine and thin :( (I'm thinking of chopping it all off to like 2 inches long, with bangs, and bleaching it white. lol. quite drastic.... I know I won't do it though)

So cute! I love the look. I recently chopped a couple of inches of my hair off, and I love the way it turned out. Getting new haircuts are one of my favorite things.
Have a good day!

I couldn't ever imagine you could look cuter, but yes, it is possible. And your cut turned out waaaay better than your inspiration picture! I haven't cut my hair for several years, I just trim the ends on my own. I have a fear of hairdressers and the horrible things they may do to my beloved hair. Childhood trauma involving a pixie cut. But sometimes I wish I knew a hairdresser I could trust and I'd take the plunge, just to see a change and take the weight off.

It looks wonderful! I haven't had my hair cut in so long...I think the nervousness is what keeps me from going.

Cute haircut! Would you mind telling me where you got it cut? I moved to the Lawrence, KS a little while ago and am having a hard time finding a place to get my hair cut.
