new obsessions

* Old-timey lace ups, like these Zeha-Berlin ankle boots.
* Lambs Ear Shoe Shop, a perfectly-edited boutique full
of accessories and shoes (such as the ones pictured
above).

wow. those oxfords are really cute, above. *sigh* i would love to add a few more last-a-lifetime pieces to my wardrobe.. but in these times, i'm sadly more opt to save my earnings instead of spending. depressing isn't it? :(

Wow, those boots are gorgeous. I love lace up granny boots. These boots remind me of something the main character Shoshanna in Inglorious Basterds would wear. The history of the boots provided at the link is also really interesting. I love the idea of wearing shoes that are authentically an old design and not just modern retro. Also it's very cool that Lambs Ear carries Yokoo's handknits. I have been a fan of her enormous cowls and scarves on Flickr/Etsy for some time now--her self portraits fascinate me and it's awesome to see how her line has taken off.

i love how the boots are paired with the skirt and dark tights. i'm always afraid i'll end up looking more high school than chic in this type of boots, but i covet them all the same.

Agreed; I love that skirt! But I am in love with Lamb Ear Shoes, especially their selection of Keller boots. Even though I don't think I could ever think of an outfit to wear them with, I desperately want their Jamie boots in white!

These are amazing. I wish I had 480 dollars. Alas.

Oh, those are great boots. Exactly what I'm looking for right now in a vintage pair. Thanks for the shop link!

Those boots are very cute and the way the site styled them is very appealing.

I just saw a show on PBS called Craft in America and one of the places it showcased was Kansas City. I really enjoyed the whole program and learned a little more about your old home city - very interesting!

Those shoes are amazing, just gorgeous! Unfortunately I could never afford them!

They are VERY nice boots but I'm not so fond of the price. Mind you, a good justification is that I never spend enough on my shoes and end up having to replace them sooner than I should .... what do you think, good enough reasoning?

These are such amazingly beautiful shoes!

Wow they are so cool! Espeially with the skirt. I've always had a thing about boots and skirts. I don't know why people don't do it more often!

I just discovered today that Timberland has a new collection of men's and women's boots, which is, according to the website, inspired by New England/England styles at the turn of the 20th century. The Timberland boots remind me a lot of the style of the Lambs Ear boots, and they are not quite as pricey. I especially like these: http://www.timberland.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3745501&cp=3733437.3733425&parentPage=family and http://www.timberland.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3745508&cp=3733437.3733424&parentPage=family.

whoah, kristien! that is crazy. i was just at the timberland store today and saw those! i was in soho searching for the perfect red lipstick, and i just happened to walk by that store and peek in when i saw lace up boots. i like those too.

ohhh...i'm obsessing about these now too!!!

Jenny, that is so funny! Worlds colliding! I was in Carroll Gardens yesterday and stopped in at Soula, and they had the Timberland ankle boots in the window. At first I thought they were the same line as the Lambs Ear, which is what drew me into the store, and I was surprised to find out they were Timberlands! Any luck with the perfect red lipstick? You are going to laugh at my suggestibility, but after your Paris post, I bought the Mociun tee-shirt you featured. I just loved the model's whole look.

Kristien,

I love Carroll Gardens. I used to live there, and I miss it. But Williamsburg is just a lot more fun!

I wouldn't laugh at you because I am just that easily influenced too! Besides, that Mociun tee is awesome, and on sale.

I found a red lipstick I think I like, but I am a little unsure. I never wear bold lipstick. I usually go for a very natural look. I should post a photo and let my blog readers decide if they like it. Of course that might open me up to some mean comments!
