sewing class

I have some really exciting news!  I'm going to be teaching a sewing class at Lena Corwin's studio in Fort Greene, Brooklyn during the month of November.  It's for intermediate sewers who will learn how to make the top, dress, and skirt pictured above.  These are patterns I made before, but I tweaked and updated them for this class.  I'll be giving each student their own set of patterns and instructions to keep so that they can use them over and over again.  I had a lot of fun making these samples for the class, and I look forward to teaching my students how to give their garments a professional finish.  Here's the info:

four 1-1/2 hour classes
thursday evenings- 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, and 12/3
6:00-7:30 PM
$250 + supplies

We will also have sewing machines there in case you don't want to lug yours across the city.  Email info@lenacorwin.com to sign up.  Space is limited!  It will be a small class so that there will be plenty of one-on-one help.

Ah I would love to take this!! I'm nervous about what constitutes 'intermediate' level, though. I hem jeans and have followed simple patterns in the past but they've never turned out all that well, unfortunately. What do you think?

aw i wish i could take this so badly! unfortunately i don't get out of work until 7. maybe if it's a hit you could do a weekend one? i'd totally sign up.

Oh, if only I lived in New York! By the way, where did you get those fabulous tights?!

Elly gave me those tights for Christmas last year. They're Smartwool. I love them so much!

Fantastic! I'm too much of a beginner for this class, I fear. Would you ever consider offering a beginner's or refresher class later on, perhaps on a weekend or a little later in the evening?

I hope you offer this again. I posted on Lena's blog that I am so sad to not be able to make it to these classes because of work. I had been looking for something exactly like this class and I even live near fort greene. So sad....

I wish I could have that chance. I really love your pattern. Is it possible to have those patterns and I could made them here where I live? And I love your matching color. It's so great.

Congratulations, how exciting! I'm sure you will do an excellent job teaching. I learned so much from you, I could be a testimonial to your expertise!

ooooh, so wonderful! I'm not going to echo the sentiments of everyone and wish I were still living in NY to come (which I obviously do!), but just want to say that I am IN LOVE with the print of this skirt, and also the color material you chose for the Market Dress...purple and red go so wonderfully together!

Oh, if only I weren't half a world away! I really love my skirts I made from your pattern in Stitch, and that dress/top looks really lovely. If you ever make the pattern available for purchase after the class is over, you've an eager buyer here.

These look so beautiful, Jenny!
The colors and the patterns, love how you have combined them all.
I'll be getting in to NYC on 11/5, but Tomory & I have to head straight to a friends art opening, after checking into our hotel.
Would've been fun to sit in on your 1st class with Lena! I'm sure the class will be a smashing success.

Have you ever thought of doing an online sewing class like this? Send out the patterns via mail but have them watch videos and contact through chatting or emails. I'd sign up for something like that since I'm so far away.

are you selling any of these patterns? I am much too far away for the class, but I have fallen in love with that skirt!! any suggestions?
