Okay, back to posting about winter stuff again because let's face it, it's cold out there. I've always loved duffel coats--they're just so collegiate and classic. I grew up going to private school, and I do believe that no one will ever be able to take the prep out of me. Not to mention that lately I've been going through a phase of obsession with NYC Prep, Gossip Girl, and Gilmore Girls. I found the above photo of Alexa Chung wearing a Gloverall duffel on the whowhatweardaily website, and I think the whole look is adorable. All of the coats pictured above are from Gloverall, and I spied the bottom ones on Commas and Clauses.

A duffel seems to be the only type of winter coat I'm missing, I would love to have a camel or navy one.
One of my accounts was talking about dropping it from their line (double faced wool with herringbone on the inside, it was stunning) I begged them to keep it, its such a staple and really looks great on anyone.
When I think of duffel coats my heart goes crazy ;) They are my favorite ever!
The bottom ones are amazing! Such a cute spin on a classic. So striking.
i am having such a hard time not buying this one: http://shopbird.com/product.php?productid=19198&cat=0&manufacturerid=294&page=1
and yes, the duffel coat is the only type of coat that i'm missing, and the gloverall ones are so classic.
it is still freezing here, too.
I love my duffel coat. I wear it with my burberry scarf and feel like paddington bear!
Aritzia is where I got mine from (seen on Jesica Alba. No big deal). They fit so nice and are super warm!
I think New Jersey has an Aritzia now! It's a canadian store! YAY!

I have a great black hooded duffel that I found for a song last winter. It's so collegiate, and makes me think of Paddington Bear :)
great post!!! you know i swear i was thinking about the exact same thing today!(triggered by alexa chung and passing someone who looked like "chuck bass")
I have been on the hunt for the perfect duffel coat - those bottom two are contenders.
And isn't Gilmore Girls the best? I miss that show.
Ah, lovely duffel coat!
I definitely love this style coat, and they make me think of Paddington Bear, in the best way possible.
I love these kinds of coats! The bottom two with the longer toggle ties are my favorite of the bunch.
Yes please
Oh gosh, I just saw a really cute toggle coat by Engineered Garments at Pas de Deux tonight. Didn't check the price tag on it though.
I have been wanting a duffle coat ever since I saw a Filippa K one (http://totokaelo.com/store/product/2266) on Totokaelo. I like the Gloverall ones too, Sierratrading.com had some a week or two ago for about $200 but are out now too. Saint James makes classic duffles as well but are way out of my price range.
Excellent!! Must add to my wishlist now...
Duffle Coats with toggles, always remind me of Paddington (Bear) which makes me quite happy.
If you haven't already, you should totally read the novel "Prep" by Curtis Sittenfeld (the woman who wrote "American Wife.") I think you would enjoy it.
Miss C,
Yep! I've totally red "Prep". And in fact, right now I'm in the middle of "American Wife".
: )
in case anyone is interested in the filippa k penny duffel - it just went on sale from 550 to 275 at ilovebastille.com. free shipping though no returns for sale merch. review here for sizing http://totokaelo.com/store/product/2266. xs and s still available.
Great selection of coats - i went two winters without one ( in Barcelona that is possible, even though at times uncomfortable) but finally found this one
... although not strictly speaking a duffel coat
