Sophia would not let me take a picture of these without her! Apparently she's in love with my new boots. Or maybe it's just infatuation. Whatever, I hope they'll be very happy together. I first saw this style in the magical thrift store in Montana with Elly, but they were pretty beat up and too small for me. Afterward I spent months searching for "vintage Laredo lace up boots" on eBay. Finally I found some, and they're almost perfect. My only complaint is that the toe is super narrow, so maybe I should have gone up half a size. They're fine with tights, but if I wear thick socks I'll be in pain!
I just couldn't leave out this photo of Sophia caressing them with her head.

Oh, your cat is so cute (well, your boots are also very adorable but the cat looks so fluffy and soft). It drives me crazy when I see something second hand that I love but that the size or whatever doesn't work. After, I can spend hours trying to find one on Internet and in other stores!
Sweet boots, Jenny! I especially like the tassels on the front--it makes them look old fashioned and feminine. The boots look like they are in great condition and you may even be able to get a cobbler to stretch out the toe bed. Sophia reminds me of my girl cat Saba, who also loves to caress things with her head--especially lamp shades. Yesterday when I was studying she kept walking up to me on the table and really nudging her head into my forehead. Cats are the cutest.
Too cute to resist!
so great...jeffrey campbell has a pair that are sort of similar that i found here:

I absolutely LOVE these photos! I have a cat that looks just like yours! And those boots are too die for! Great find!
What a very darling cat this is!
Way to be persistent! Your kitty is too cute for words.
luckily those will probably look AWESOME with tights. what a find!

awww, sophia is too cute with those shoes! great find. i'm always so nervous about the sizing of vintage shoes, but i'm glad that they fit you more or less.

Sophia just stole my heart along with your boots.
oh my gosh! THESE are the boots you were talking about?? super cute! i love the rich brown color. i'm still on the hunt for my perfect pair, but i'm glad to see you found yours :)
what a great find! Those would look great with a skirt or pants - I'm never patient enough to go searching in thrift shops - it's good that you have the patience!
ahhhhh, these boots are awesome! I love that little fringy detail (what do you call those?); they remind me of the Vanessa Bruno boots I was coveting over at Totokaelo...and your cat, your cat! sooo precious : )
These are so gorgeous that I might just have to break my ebay hatred and give it a little looksie. :) I love them!!
I can't quit you Laredo boots!
That's what Sophia is saying.....
I think Urban actually has something similar (but they are brown and black).
Adorable.
sophia has some fine taste in footwear!
My cat has a shoe fetish too!
He loves to sleep on top of my flats and cuddle up to my boots. Sometimes he carries them to a more suitable snuggling spot as well
great boots, i've been tempted by the tassels. I also just found some new to me boots, which i must say are perfect.

my cat has a shoe OBSESSION too!
that's an adorable photo. my cat does the same thing every time i bring something new home. i just discovered your blog and love it :)
I love your shoes :)
I'm coming to this discussion a bit late, but couldn't not comment since I got these same boots about a month ago. They're made by Justin and I bought them from a store in San Francisco (http://www.visitgeneralstore.com/) that specifically looks for vintage pairs, so there were a good dozen to choose from. Justin still makes these, but it's nice to get ones that are already broken in a bit 'cause they're definitely on the stiff side. And even though I have narrow feet, the toe is still a bit snug on me. I think the shopkeeper described it as having your toes corralled.
