erica tanov spring 2010

photos by erica shires, from www.ericatanov.com

As my own spring photo shoot for Wiksten swiftly approaches, I'm finding myself so inspired by these images from Erica Tanov's Spring 2010 collection.  Casual, effortless, and perfectly evocative of spring.  Isn't the blue and white dress just lovely?  And the model's short haircut and colorful socks are particularly charming.  The whole thing seems real--not overly produced, but just a girl enjoying a lazy spring afternoon.  I like it.

Lately I've been busy preparing for my first full collection in over a year.  The transitions and ups and downs of the past year have prevented me from getting one together, and I've really missed one of my favorite things--collaborating with a team on a photo shoot.  Creating a visual story with a group of people working together can be a very satisfying thing.  I'm really looking forward to it (two weeks from now), and I'm kinda nervous too.

her shop is so sweet, too.

i'm in love with the model's hair! this spring weather makes me want to lounge in pretty socks and soak up all the sunshine i can.

must be nice to be nearing completing of a new collection! i hear you about transitions, etc., making it hard to work.

Really beautiful, Jenny. I also love the model's haircut. You definitely nailed the vibe of this shoot-- it just looks like she is enjoying lazing about her apartment on a warm Sunday morning. The socks reminded me of your sock pictures from knitting in the winter.

I am so excited to see your new collection! I can only imagine how much work you have ahead of you, so good luck. It's going to be amazing!

Such gorgeous photos--they are like a breath of fresh air compared to all the heavy, overly-composed shoots I've been seeing lately. Natural and light is so much better.

I can't wait to see your new collection!

i wish i could pull off that cute little bowl cut the model has. my mom used to have that style back in the 70's. it would be so perfect for summer, but i'm not that adventurous!

good luck with you upcoming shoot! i can't wait to see it :)
