photos by Dominic Neitz

I was hoping that you might want to see more photos of models jumping around, so here are the rest of the shots from the photo shoot.  Dominic, Glenn, and I went to Jacob Riis Park on Friday (finally), and it was a gorgeous but very windy day.  Dominic Neitz is a good buddy of my husband, and he graciously agreed to be my photographer for the shoot.  Check out his website here.  I love his photographs.  The model is Glenn Lovrich, who is a bartender on the Lower East Side and a friend of Dom's.  They were so super fun to hang out with, and I loved watching them work together.  It would have been even more fun had I slept the night before, ha!

I got some questions about my collection in the comment section of my last post, so I'll try to answer some of them here.  Yes, my work has totally been influenced by moving to Brooklyn!  Not just that, but the way I dress has evolved over the last year as well.  Although I do stay true to myself, where I live always affects my wardrobe.  Moving to New York has been so freeing to me because I feel like I can get away with a lot more here than I could in the Midwest.  My neighborhood is endlessly inspiring to me, and there are people of all types.  Anything goes basically.

I'm inspired by the city, my friends who live here, and the design going on here.  I've gotten really excited about some of the new trends happening here, and I guess this collection is my interpretation of those trends: tie dye, cut outs, bold prints, etc.  I usually don't base my work on trends, but this was just really fun for me because I was hoping for my work to go in a new direction.  I hope that these pieces are still classic but just a little bit more fun.

I'll be posting more info soon!

Edit: The button down top is a part of the collection, but I decided that I don't think I'll be producing them.  The bikini top worn underneath is by Lover, and it's from Totokaelo (no longer available).

gorgeous! These pieces make for an amazing collection...I am so in love!
I agree with NY being sort of freeing. I just moved from LA to NY and though LA is somewhat fashion forward, NY is all about personality + comfort. I like that :)

every shot is amazing! good job dominic, glenn and jenny! you guys really work well together.

i seriously cannot decide which piece i like the best. every new photo i see makes me switch. if you pinned me down and threatened to fart on my head though (uh, i just lost my chances of you publishing this comment), i'd say it's the tribal dress. no wait! the blue cutout top. NO! the kimono sleeved button down... nevermind, i'm no good at this. how do you pick when everything is perfect?!

Jenny, again, WOW!! I love everything in this collection, especially that tie dye shirt dress! Congratulations! I love hearing about your process and how new york is influencing you as a designer. Hope you enjoy some well deserved time off! I can picture you putting your feet up and doing some knitting. ;) You deserve it! xo.

Awesomeness! I really love the jumping shots, I think my favorite action shot is probably the one with the ikat top, she looks so happy. But I also agree with what Elly said, too hard to pick a favorite! ;) All of these really rock my socks off!!

Wow, Jenny--this collection is beyond fantastic. You must be so pleased with how it all turned out--the shoot is lovely, and such sunshiney photographs show off your pieces beautifully. With each new collection your work seems to just get better and better--the cut-out sleeve tops in this one are by far my favorite. Congratulations!

totally, martha! when i found the fabric (lord knows i didn't dye it myself!), it totally reminded me of you. i seriously considered calling it the martha dress, but didn't want you to be embarrassed if you didn't like it!
