pizza!

Yep, pizza deserves an exclamation point in my opinion.  Especially the one from this recipe.  I used fresh, organic swiss chard and garlic from this week's batch of CSA veggies.  I'd never had swiss chard before (!!!), and I think it's so beautiful and delicious.  I also roasted some of the CSA squash with olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper for a side dish.  Wow, I could really get used to having all of these fresh vegetables around.

Unfortunately my career doesn't leave much time for cooking right now, so when I do get to it's really special.  I planned an evening of making pizza and watching Mad Men season 3 with Joe last night, and I was so excited about it at work during the day that it was all I could think about.  Luckily everything went perfectly, and we even walked to the ice cream shop afterward.  Homemade pizza, wine, ice cream, and Mad Men--what more could you want?

Yes, it sounds like the perfect evening, the pizza looks delicious. I'm really glad for you your career is going so well, even if it must mean so much hard work. I remember you had doubts about moving to NY, but it seems it turned out great for you. As a long time follower of your blog, it's interesting to witness your career evolve and bloom. I can't afford the same things as you anymore ;) Keep up the great work!

homemade pizza is my favorite. My favorite right now is basil pesto, potato, onion and tomato.

You just solved my dinner dilemma. Pizza it is. But I'll have to use zucchini, red onions, tomatoes, and basil from the garden. Swiss chard sounds wonderful though!

we made homemade pizza the other night with sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, yellow peppers and goat cheese. pizza=perfect summer dinner!

I sauteed swiss chard, kale, sweet potatoes together to top sour dough toast for my mum this morning. She didn't dig it. Thought it was too "planty." Boo, I loved it.

That does sound like a perfect night! I'm in Toronto and have been getting almost the same things in my CSA box lately too. I actually made garlic scape pesto after seeing yours! Might be borrowing your pizza idea too. Thanks for sharing! :)

amen to that, sister! sounds like a wonderful evening. and your pizza is beautiful.

chard is really great in brothy soups, too -- you just throw it in near the end of simmering. yum!

what a perfect evening. daydreaming about what i'm going to eat is my main hobby. it's so fun to make an idea come to fruition!

sauteed chard is awesome. you can treat it pretty much like spinach. i like to use it in a tart with caramelized onions and gruyere cheese. wait... that's what i want for dinner now. :)

Aren't CSA bins the best for discovering new veggies? In the year since I've had mine I feel like I've been introduced to so many new and awesome things I never would have bought myself.

Your evening sounds so sweet--gotta get through Season 3 to be set for season 4 in a week or so!
