missed you

photos of my studio

I had to go away suddenly for a family emergency, and now I'm back a week later.  Phew.  This has been a pretty emotional time--I'm not sure I'm ready to dive back into work, but I'm going to anyway.  September will be a very full month, and there's a lot to do to get ready.  I'm participating in an event for Fashion's Night Out on September 10 as well as hosting an open studio night with my Dobbin Mews cohorts on September 30.  (We call our studios the mews because they used to be stables.)   More on those events later this week.

I'm also going to start taking pre-orders for Tova shirt sewing patterns!  Yep.  The success of my first round of patterns practically demands that I do this.  Also, many of your e-mails demand that I do it as well.  Now that I know how long it takes to make the patterns, I'll be taking pre-orders starting tomorrow for patterns that will ship at the end of October.  I hope that by doing it this way, it won't take over my life again.  It will be less stressful to have more time to get them packed and shipped.  Again, these are limited edition, and I'll only take orders for what I can handle.  Once they're sold out I won't be making any more.  Pre-order here starting tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug 31, in the morning.

I hope everything is okay with your family too, and I wish you all well.

I made up the tank + dress pattern this weekend and I love it. The fit of the pattern pieces, the instructions, the final garment - everything is so well done and so pleasing and satisfying.

I hope everything's alright and you guys are all doing well, or recuperating steadily, anyway...

and thanks for actually mentioning the words "mews," b/c I always passed by Washington Mews near Washington Square Park on campus and never had the motivation to look it up...it all makes sense now.....

and I love those shoes, btw...
