baby sweater

tiny sweater for eli

Remember how I was going to make a sweater for Lena's baby?  I finished it in time for the birth, and I've already seen Eli wearing it.  He was adorable!  I used the "Chunky Knit Cardigan" pattern in Erika Knight's Simple Knits for Cherished Babies and this snuggly yarn (one of my favorites that i use often).  It's a cute enough sweater, but I'm not in love with the pattern.  I think the shape of the arms is a little weird, and the body might be a little short.

I love the sweater Lena ended up making!  Next time I'll try that pattern instead.

Oh I think it's adorable! I love that you used red thread to attach the buttons, such a nice detail!

I've only made one baby sweater (a kimono-style wrap sweater), but I thought the body was too short on it, too. I've resolved to always knit a little extra length in the future.

Super-cute, though!

Oh, how funny, I'm working on that exact same sweater. It's my second time making it, and yeah, it's a bit cropped and boxy. Which, to be fair, is what it says in the description. This time I'm making it longer, kind of eyeballing it. Yours turned out so well!

That is so sweet, why do baby clothes always seem that much more special?

The sweater is beautiful. I always love your mix of neutrals with tiny pops of color. Very subtle and classic. I am currently working on this baby sweater and enjoying it so far. Although it takes longer, I love that I get to use sock yarn for it—all my favorite yarns are sock yarns.

This Debbie Bliss patterns was one of the first sweaters I ever attempted knitting years and years ago! I agree that it was blocky and not all that well written. Even now I'm not a fan of her patterns... designs yes, patterns no.

My favorite baby sweater pattern is here (http://www.knittingonthenet.com/patterns/babysweragcard.htm) It always comes out perfectly! I've made 3 in Koigu and they're really dreamy.

This is absolutely adorable! I hope one day I can improve my knitting skills to the point where sweaters are in my repertoire. One day...

I like the unexpectedness of making a baby knit out of chunky weight. This looks like a little ole grandpa sweater, but in a very cute way!
