Before Lissa left she took a quilting class at Brooklyn General, and her work was so inspiring.  In honor of Lissa, I thought I'd share these quilts my mom and I saw at the folk art museum back in October.  I love the tiny doll quilts!

amazing. I love quilts. I was inspired to start quilting back in 2008 when I saw a really beautiful quilt in Pebble Beach home. & that museum, I want to go to there.

Weeeeeeeeeeee! I'm going to that show in the next few weeks and this little preview is making me even more excited about it! Did you know that the folk art museum has 2 other little satellite exhibits around the city? There's info on their site if you're interested.

These are really beautiful. I just can't seem to make a good quilt. These will be my next inspiration.

my grandmother used to quilt so much -- her creations are beautiful! there is a whole quilt museum in paducah, kentucky that is really interesting if you are ever down south with some spare time!

these quilts are so lovely. i especially like the quilting pattern on that bottom quilt, reminds me of this , and is something i really want to try on another quilt (also, if you did it on machine, you could whip one up so quick)

Have you seen the quilts of Gee's Bend, Alabama? If you haven't, brew a cup of tea, boot up your laptop, and spend an evening getting INSPIRED. I think the Whitney has a pretty comprehensive data base on the them, but a quick google search will no doubt get you started.

(I did a whole series of paintings inspired by those quilts. They're the BOMB DOT COM.)

So inspiring... we're getting in to quilting in a big way ahead of launching our first line of quilts, so this would be SO amazing to see in person...

Thanks for the sneak peek! Gorgeous colours... :)
