photos by Jennifer Causey for The Makers Project
The Makers Project is one of my favorite websites, and I feel incredibly honored to be featured there today. Jen Causey's photos are lovely. Although work can be stressful, she always manages to capture the peace and beauty of people doing what they love. Jen photographed me in my studio a couple of weeks ago, and it was so fun! I think you can tell by all the smiling in my photos.
Edit: Yep, those are previews of my summer designs, as is the dress I'm wearing in the photos. Just waiting for a sunny day for the photoshoot.

Congratulations! i love your No.6's!
Congratulations! Your studio is lovely.
These photos are lovely. Your collection, your studio, and YOU are all gorgeous. I'm so impressed that you sew each piece by hand. As an aspiring designer, I get overwhelmed by the idea of sending items to be manufactured, being a hustler of a product, and moving away from the hand crafted aspect of the job...because sewing is what I love! You are doing such an amazing job, and I would love to see more posts about how you make this work as a career.
xo,
Rachel
So exciting! And that dress you're wearing is super awesome. Oh Brooklyn, why can't you be closer to New Zealand?
I'm not surprised to see you're now a part of this project, but I'm thrilled about it! How could your beautiful creations not be included? I can't wait to see your summer designs, especially the dress you're wearing. Even from just the little peek, they look gorgeous!

Just beautiful, will remember these happy studio times always :)
it's been a long time since I visited your blog again and I just came across this post. I think that's so wonderful and although it sounds silly, I feel 'proud' FOR you :-) Your blog and Jennifer's were among my favourites when I first started looking at blogs such a long time ago. It seems like the universe has brought you together over the years and I love that.
Good luck with everything (I just read up on your more recent posts about your move)
x E.
