short row sweater

purl bee short row sweater

photo from The Purl Bee

Have you seen this project from The Purl Bee?  So genius!  You could wear it either forward or backward, and it would look amazing over a silk dress.  I wish I had time to curl up with a Cary Grant movie marathon and knit this up, but I'm too busy sewing those silk dresses.  I have photo shoot part 2 next week, and I can't wait to show you my new products shortly after!

Learning to knit something more complicated than a scarf is high on my to-do list this winter. Can't wait to see your new pieces and the new look book! I know they will be amazing.

What a splendid sweater, just my kind of thing. I'd wear it this way round and never have to worry about ribbing riding up over my rear...which ALWAYS happens. Wonder if I could do this. I love The Purl Bee, and I visit often, as much for the fabric as the knit/crochet projects. Thanks for a kick in the imagination.

I saw this in Purl Bee last night and my daughter and I ooh-ed and ah-ed over it. She wants one, and I'd love to make it for myself, but I think it might have to wait til the new year. I'm making my annual attempt to use up some of my stash and knit lots of gifts.

I totally agree! When I saw this sweater this morning I wanted to take the day off (and stop knitting the baby blanket I'm working on!) and make this. So lovely.

Oh, wow! Thank you for sharing. I have so many dream knitting projects right now and will definitely add this one to my list! I treated myself to the Coastal Knits book and just got it the other day...there are so many beautiful patterns in there. I can't wait to see your new collection!!

okay, this is really perfect. And I really, really can't wait to see the dresses, Jenny!!! Also... I was just thinking today that I want an old classics marathon-- that will likely have to wait for the winter holidays when C is off, but I'm planning it now!

I ran right out and got some yarn to get this project going...it was a slow start but its moving along now that I've got the CO and ribbing of over 300 stitches done!

Gah! You and me both. So many work knits to work on, but all I can think of is this adorable little layer. HMPH!
