The February issue of Martha Stewart Living contains the most beautiful article about how to make your own flower arrangements.  Jen Causey took the exquisite photographs of Nicolette Owen and Sarah Ryhanen teaching a class of students about flowers, and I was lucky enough to get to take the class!  These gals are so talented--to be around them while they work is to see beauty.  Although I love flowers, I've always been terrible at putting them together.  They taught me so much.  (See me in the last photo with my arrangement?)  I highly recommend picking up this mag for all the wonderful flower tips, not to mention the lovely photos by Jen.  The other students were Fay Andrada, Jennifer Sarkilahti, Lena Corwin, and Liane Tyrrel, an inspiring group of ladies.  See more on the Martha blog here.

Nicolette and Sarah teach these classes regularly, and you can sign up to take one here.  The lovely ladies are also hosting a pop-up flower shop in Manhattan, making custom bouquets for Valentine's Day.  It's at 223 Mott Street and lasts until 6PM tomorrow.  Wish I could go!  It looks beautiful.

I'm not going to lie, I'm also pretty thrilled that so much Wiksten made it into the photos.  Nicolette wore her blue Lissa Dress, Sarkilahti wore her Lissa Top, and I wore my Wiksten sundress that I tie-dyed for myself last summer.  I should also mention the necklace I wore, by Juliet Gorman, now available in her Etsy shop.

everything's so beautiful and it does look like a lot of fun. my first job was at a florist but the posies we made were very stiff, i like how these look so rambling.

this is awesome, jenny! i had no idea you were also in the article (i was lazy, didn't pick one up after my subscription ended). the classes are way filled and likely a little too rich for my blood, maybe something will open up on the cheaper side eventually.

p.s. love the dress!
