I want to thank all of you for your comments, e-mails, good wishes, and prayers for my cat Seymour. They've meant everything. Seymour passed away today. I did not think this would happen, and especially not so soon. It's hard to say goodbye to him because he gave me so much love and comfort in my life, but I'm glad he's not suffering anymore. Joe and I loved that little guy so much, and we miss him dearly.

I used to "see" my cat from the corner of my eye, even after I had to put him to sleep. But slowly time heals.

Oh, I am so sorry, my heart sank when I read this. I kept checking back since you last posted hoping for good news. I know what this feels like, pets have a tremendous impact on your life. It is surprising though how time makes the sadness less and the fond memories stronger. But now my eyes well up for Seymour.

oh jenny, i'm so sorry. i know how hard it is to loose such an important part of your life, it was so hard when our dog sara passed last year. i wrote about it on my blog too, i found it helped a little to share her and her memory.
it does help knowing they aren't suffering anymore and that seymour knew how much he was loved.

Jenny - I just started following your blog after making your lovely tank pattern, but I wanted to say my heart goes out to you in this time of loss. We had an 8 month old kitten get sick with FIP and die within a week a few years ago, and it absolutely broke my heart. It's just so hard to lose your little buddy. Sending you hugs and peace.

Jenny, I am so sorry to hear about Seymour's passing. My beloved Elsa passed away five years ago and there isn't a day when I don't think about her. Similar to you there were days when the only creature I had around was my girl and so when she passed there was an incredible void in my life. It does get easier over time and just remember that he hit the jackpot when you and Joe came into his life. You were lucky to have him and he was lucky to have you. Please take care.

I'm so sorry Jenny. I was a mess when my cat died (he got run over by a car). I felt horrible and quite frankly, utterly depressed for a long time. I grieved for him like I would a friend. I feel for you so much, having been there myself. Take care!

It is the absolute worst to lose a pet. I am so very sorry to hear about your Seymour. Over time you will feel less sad, and be left with your fond memories of him. Give yourself lots of time to mourn. It will help you feel better and whole again.

I'm so sorry! Sometimes people underestimate the importance of our pets in our lives. We lost our childhood pet cat over 15 years ago. Her name was Tibby and she was a constant in all my family's lives. She was simply another member of our family. She died aged 18 from kidney failure and we were all devastated at the time. We still talk about her every now and then and miss her.
I hope you can get to a place where you can remember Seymour without feeling sad. xx
