new knitting patterns

photos by Jared Flood for Brooklyn Tweed

I've been dying to share one of the freelance projects I worked on this year, and now I finally can!  I'm beyond thrilled to be included in Brooklyn Tweed's Wool People, Volume 3.  For the first time ever my knitting patterns are available for purchase, and I'm so excited.  I can't believe my good fortune to have my work included alongside the work of such amazing knitwear designers, in a collection with such beautiful photos, designs, colors, and yarn.

Do to the popularity of the Fjord and Öljett hats that I made for my shop last year, I decided to use them for this project.  Working with Jared was such a great way to get my feet wet with creating knitting patterns, as he was just as kind and helpful as can be.  The patterns are exactly the same as the ones I used to make the hats for the shop, the only difference being that I used Brooklyn Tweed yarn for these and thus changed the gauge from dk to worsted.  The yarn is awesome, and I highly recommend it.  BT has such great heathery colors that my mind is just swimming with possible color combos for the marled Öljett hat.

Both of these hats are such fun to make that I want to do one of each in every color.  If you're on Ravelry, you can purchase a pdf of the Öljett pattern here and the Fjord here.  If not, you can get them directly through Brooklyn Tweed here.  I also have a few more knitting patterns up my sleeve that will be published through other venues soon as well.

Congratulations Jenny. You produce such lovely things I am in awe of your creativity and love being able to try out your patterns (both dressmaking and now knitting) for myself.

Kind regards

Wow! Congratulations indeed! I really liked both the Fjord and Oljett and, for the most part, I insist on making my own hats, scarves and mitts. It's my Mother's fault, but now everyone will have what they want!

Congrats, Jenny! Jared Flood is my knitting hero, it's really cool that you had a chance to work with him. I'll have to make at least one of each.

Wow, congratulations! That's excellent news. These hats are both lovely! It may be 104 degrees here...but I am itching to knit. Both these hats are beautiful and I love the natural fiber look of the ones shown!

Oh yeah! These look just as beautifully simple/simply beautiful and well-proportioned as your sewing patterns.

Congrats Jenny - that's so wonderful! I haven't knitted anything since that scarf I did with you - maybe this winter it's time for a hat!

I'm lying in front of a fan after taking a cold bath, so knits are the last thing I want to think about right now... but dang! I have to learn how to knit. These are beautiful.

Jenny, how did you know that I was both a rabid fan of Brooklyn Tweed AND Wiksten AND I had just opened my laptop to look for a fabulous beanie pattern to start knitting tonight?

This post could not be more perfectly timed. *rushes off to purchase!*

Congratulations! I'm a little behind on my blog reading, but I saw the Wool People 3 preview a few days ago and was delighted to see your two patterns in it. They look great! I'll be knitting one once this weather cools down just a tad...
