iris

Meet Iris Bloom, born on my due date, January 9, 2014.  A tiny little thing, weighing 6 1b. 12 oz.  She was born 9 weeks ago, and I wish I would have had the time and energy to write this post sooner because there's so much that I've already forgotten.  I would love to tell you the birth story and more, but I think I'm still trying to process all of it.  Hopefully I can come back here from time to time and revisit it in bits and pieces.  It's been the hardest time of my life but also the most awe-inspiring.  What I do know is that we love her with all of our hearts and feel very lucky to be a family.

Congratulations to you and Joe, Jenny. I have just been going my bookmarked blogs, ones I've been following for years, and catching up with those I've lost touch with. I was so surprised and thrilled to see that you now have your own gorgeous babe. It's so hard, those early days, all consuming. My girls are older now (7 and 10) but I have few photos from when they were really small, I was simply too overwhelmed and all consumed by getting through. I hope you're okay and getting lots of support. xxxx

Fantastic news, congratulations! I have a 8week old and I completely understand where you are coming from. They really are amazing little things (I love the cooing) but they are hard work (feeding every 3hours over night). This is my second boy and I know how quickly they grow and develop their own personalities. Exciting times are ahead for you - ENJOY :)
